Seasons’ Greetings!

For the 4^th year in a row, Strategic Partners will be participating in an effort with a group of families in Silver Spring, MD, who single handedly distribute 650 meal baskets.  If you either don’t have a charity that you support and are looking for one, we invite you to contribute to this effort by choosing one or more of the following easy tasks that can be quickly accomplished as you are doing your personal shopping.

Gifts from the Montgomery County Holiday Project 2010

Gifts: If you choose to give gifts, we ask that they be new and unwrapped. It is hardest to cover the older children, if given a choice we request you buy for a teenager.

Food Donations: The following specific food items are needed to fill baskets. Instead of taking the time to find each item in the grocery store, the best thing to do is choose one item and buy multiples or a case.

•  16 ounce cans of turkey gravy,
  cranberry sauce or green beans
• 32 or 40 ounce cans of yams
• 64 ounce bottles of apple juice

 Financial Donations: Financial donations may be made in the form of gift cards to Giant or Safeway in $10 increments.  Financial donations of any amount help offset the costs of purchasing the perishable food items that will be in each basket. A $50 donation provides a complete food basket for a family. (Remember, gift cards must be provided in $10 denominations only.)

Many people have asked whether they can write a check instead of donating food or gifts, and the answer is: Yes!

Our efforts are on behalf of the Montgomery County Holiday Project and we have affiliated with a project sub group working out of a large church in Silver Spring.  Checks can be payable to: St. Patrick’s Social Concerns, so that organizers can quickly and easily access monetary contributions to purchase perishable items for food baskets.

 Deadline and Drop-Off

Gifts  and food donations can be left on our porch at 8201 Bells Mill Road, Potomac, MD up until noon on December 18.  Packages will be noticed quickly so no need to ring the bell. If you are donating gift cards from Giant or Safeway, ring the bell and hand them directly to us or our Assistant, Gail McGaha.

We feel blessed to have had the opportunity to work with you this year and will appreciate anything you can do to support this worthy cause.
