Jan Boxer, Senior Partner and Executive Coaching Practice Leader

Jan Boxer is an expert in the areas of executive coaching, organizational change, and career management. In addition to personally coaching hundreds of leaders over the last 20 years she has been a trusted advisor to those involved with leading wide-scale change, building leadership development programs, conducting organizational assessments, managing sensitive personnel issues or spearheading employee engagement and retention initiatives. This extraordinary exposure has provided Jan with the ability to create a meaningful context for coaching that reflects current organizational realities and priorities in both government agencies and private sector corporations.
Locally, Ms. Boxer is well known and recognized as a “coach’s coach,” evidenced by her appointment to Georgetown University’s adjunct faculty where she served as a co-creator of the Advanced Certificate Program for Leadership Coaching. Similarly, in her role as Executive Coaching Practice Leader with Strategic Partners, Inc., Jan guides a team of 15+ highly experienced coaches and consultants in providing services to senior and executive level leaders, new or high potential managers, and newly forming or struggling teams interested in expanding capabilities and improving performance.
Ms. Boxer is routinely sought out by organizations building coaching programs from the ground up and provides on-going oversight to the coaching programs that have been outsourced directly to SPI. In this role, Ms. Boxer has worked within the hospitality industry, international finance, the United States Intelligence Community, scientific organizations, manufacturing environments and a variety of government agencies.Prior to joining SPI as a managing partner, Jan built a coaching and consulting firm specializing in career development and executive transition services. In this capacity, she established and operated outplacement programs for publically held companies including Marriott International, and oversaw coaching/counseling services provided by 22 coaches. She sold her interest in 2002; the firm is now known as the White Hawk Group. Earlier in her career Jan was integral in establishing career centers and programs for Manor Health Care Services Corp, Crown Central Petroleum, McCormick and Company, U.S. Postal Service, National Geographic Society, Bell Atlantic, AT&T and others.
Ms. Boxer is highly experienced in using dozens of assessment tools including Lominger’s “Voices”, The Leadership Circle Profile, and the Myers Briggs Type Indicator. Jan earned her Master’s Degree from George Washington University and is a graduate of the Institute of Life Coach Training, Fort Collins, Colorado, an International Coach Federation accredited coach training institution. In 2009 and 2010, Jan participated in the prestigious invitation-only coaching conference “Conversation among Masters”. She is an active member of the International Association of Coaching (IAC), The International Federation of Coaches (ICF) and the International Consortium of Coaching Organizations (ICCO).
Ken Boxer, Founder and President
Ken Boxer, President of Strategic Partners, Inc., regularly consults with senior managers on the design and implementation of business plans and strategies to recruit, retain, and develop employees. Throughout the years, he has worked with such organizations as Blockbuster Entertainment, Comsat Corporation, Crown Central Petroleum, Frito-Lay, Inc., Marriott Corporation, McCormick Spice, Texas Instruments, and numerous federal government agencies, including the U.S. Departments of Health & Human Services, Agriculture, and Commerce.
Prior to forming Strategic Partners, Ken was Vice-President of Management Partners, Inc., a human resources consulting firm in Alexandria, VA, where he worked with corporate and government clients to design and implement organizational change and employee development efforts. His clients included Baltimore Gas Electric, Texas Instruments, International Family Entertainment, Huntsman Chemical, Bell Atlantic, Philip Morris, and CSX.
Ken has also been a Senior Account Manager with Organizational Dynamics, Inc. (ODI). While there, he assisted clients such as W.R. Grace, NASA, Black and Decker, and Howard University Hospital to implement their Total Quality Management (TQM) process. Before joining ODI, Ken marketed and delivered sales and management programs for Sterling Institute. During his tenure with Sterling Institute, his clients included Joseph E. Seagram & Sons, Inc., Mobil Oil, CSX, Wheat First Securities, Continental Insurance, and DDB Needham. As Vice President with Technology Centers, International, Ken consulted across the country on the development of business incubators – facilities for start-up companies – and developed the first such facility in Virginia.
Ken began his career as a presidential management intern with the U.S. Small Business Administration in Washington, D.C. He holds an MA and a BA from the George Washington University, Washington, DC.
Jefferson Kellogg, Principal & Consulting Practice Leader
Jeff Kellogg brings to these roles a 30-year career delivering consulting services and managing teams dedicated to strengthening human capital management operations, both as an advisor for government clients and as an HR executive. At SPI, he serves as a project manager of organizational development engagements, assembling teams of experienced consultants to work with clients in addressing their pressing human capital management issues while helping them improve team performance.
Jeff had a long career with PwC Consulting, managing client delivery teams serving a wide array of civilian agencies. He also established and managed a consulting unit responsible for developing employee-focused surveys, the results of which were integrated into change management initiatives for scores of clients. He later served as an HR Director for their 3,000-person Federal consulting practice. He then worked as an independent consultant for a variety of firms providing strategic human capital management support. He has an undergraduate degree from the College of Wooster and graduate degrees from Kent State University and George Washington University.
